To look back now at my past, I would feel justified to say that despite my poor upbringing in my early years I have been abiding by the Chinese ethics of Yan and Ye - humanity and righteousness as my personal moral principles, holding on perseverance, patience and industry as my working attitudes, and practising humility and trustworthiness in dealing with people. I would like my descendants to know that these are the keys to the creation of any enterprise.
Alongside, it is of course equally important not to be impetuous, dishonest and covetous of small gains. At an age of over 70, I have done nothing to be ashamed of and though my achievements have been limited, it is my most earnest wish here that this spirit of industry and righteousness be well understood and remembered by my descendants and thus be carried on far ahead.
